To the family of Virgin Duncan --
We wish to extend our sympathy at the loss of Virgil. He has gone to join some of his fellow brilliant engineers in the eternal lab beyond. Virgil and I both enjoyed a sense of technical history. I read about it; he lived it! He knew some of the greats in the technical world and he witnessed some very interesting times in the radio era, the military activities, the emergence of TV, the Internet and everything in between. He was blessed to have been actively involved with each of these tecnology shifts. And he enjoyed chatting with me about the technology and the personalities involved in each. Virgil was brilliant, no doubt about that. But he was a kind and gentle man, loved by his many peers and family. Sadly, his kind were very few, but we were blessed to know him. May he enjoy his eternal reward.

I HAVE TRIED TO FIND VIRGIL FOR A LONG TIME. WE HAD LUNCH OFTEN AS YOU KNOW, AND SARA NEEDED HIM SO MUCH THAT OUR LUNCHES GOT FAR BETWEEN AND BEFORE I KNEW HE MOVED. HE HAD MENTION MOVING TO A PLACE IN APEX BUT THAT WAS ALL...VIRGIL WAS SUCH A FRIEND , HE HELPED ME GET MY BUSINESS STARTED AS YOU KNOW. I WII ALWAYS REMEMBER HE SPENT A ENTIRE WEEK END WITH ME AT A REST HOME IN RAL. THAT I WAS HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE..AS YOU WOULD KNOW HE GOT IT FIXED AND WOULD TAKE NO PAY. HE LOVED A CHALLENGE...THEN THERE WAS THE JOB AT SANABEL ISLAND...THE THANKSGIVING LUNCHES WITH HIM, BILL MORSE AND WOODY HAYES. I CAN TRULY SAY HE WAS ONE OF THE FINEST MEN I HAVE EVER KNOWN, I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM. PLEASE SAY HELLO TO SARA...WE HAD A LOT OF CONVERSATIONS ABOUT POLITICS AND I MISS THOSE ALSO..GOD BLESS AND I HOPE TO SEE YOU MONDAY

Joanne & Family, Virgil was a very special person who was happy to share his vast experiences and knowledge. Also, he was just as interested in knowing all he could know about others as well. I was fortunate when Clyde introduced me he started working on "the box". I have been blessed by knowing him. I will miss him.

Deana, I was so sorry to hear of the death of your father. In reading his obituary, he led a most interesting and fulfilling life. Virgil was a very sweet and kind man. He made me laugh alot during my days as his nurse at HVHCC. He will be missed a great deal. Love thoughts and prayers go to his wife and children.
