OBITUARY
Corrine Holloway Smith, 83, of Morehead City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital. She was born on July 8, 1926 in Ayden, NC, to Louis Franklin and Mamie Ruth Pollard Holloway. Mrs. Smith was a teacher for 35 years and retired in 1982 from Atlantic Elementary School. She taught multiple grades and was very well liked by her students and co-workers. She taught the three R's - Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic and had a huge impact on her students. She was known for her outgoing spirit and humor. She was a true educator.
"She was just as enthusiastic about their work as she was her own. She was a great teacher because she was so creative herself, and she loved her students."
