OBITUARY 
Shirley Brady Carroll, 74, of Newport, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at home.  She was born in Johnston County on August 31, 1935 to J. B. and Ada West Brady.  Mrs. Carroll joined the Primitive Baptist Church in 1961.  On October 15, 1972 she married J. C. Carroll at Little Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Clayton.  She was a member of the Newport Primitive Baptist Church on Haskett Street in Newport.

SERVICES
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, at the Newport Primitive Baptist Church on Haskett Street with Elder Milton Lupton, Elder Gene Lupton, Elder Virgil Davis and Elder Steve Lawrence officiating.  The committal service will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

VISITATION
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
