OBITUARY 
Edward Graham Atkins, Jr., 96, of Cape Carteret, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital, Morehead City.  He was born in Durham, NC on September 6, 1913, to Edward Graham and Annie Cox Atkins.  Mr. Atkins joined the Durham Police Department on September 1, 1939, and retired on January 1, 1976.  He was married to Hazel J. Atkins for 56 years.
 
SERVICES
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Hazel J. Atkins, preceded him in death.
