OBITUARY
Rosa (Rose) Jones Garner, 90, of Newport, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Harborview Healthcare Center in Morehead City.  She was born on November 4, 1919 in Newport to William J. and Ebbie Simmons Jones.  Rosa enjoyed a full life.  The last ten years of her life were eight years in Carolina House of Morehead City and as her health deteriorated, two years at Harborview Healthcare Center.  Rosa started her family early in life, shortly afterward, became employed by the Morehead City Garment Company, where she worked for thirty plus years.  Her position was in management for most of those years.  Her first husband, Gherman Garner, passed away in 1950 and her second husband, Alfred Bruce "Tom" Garner, passed away in 1993.  Even though she was blind for the last ten years, Rosa's favorite comment was "looks like it's a beautiful day", and in the conversation, would say that at least every ten minutes.  That was indicative of her outlook on life.
