Obituary
Cocheese Shields, 68, of Greenville, NC was born on August 25, 1954, in Independence, KS and died on September 13, 2022, at ECU Health Medical Center. At the age of 19 he joined the Marine Corp., and was later stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. During his time in the Marine Corp. Cocheese was a corrections officer and held medals, and badges including, National Defense Service Medal, and Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge. He later found a passion for driving, which led him to his career of being a truck driver for 30 years before becoming disabled.
A visitation will be held at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City, NC on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 3pm. A graveside service held at Bayview Cemetery Morehead City, NC on September 17, 2022, at 11am.
In addition to his parents, Cocheese was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Susan Wickizer Shields, and brother, Michael Shields.
Cocheese is survived by his brother Richard Knight of Montgomery AL, his daughter Christian Latham, her husband Lamond Latham of Greenville NC, and grandson Noah Shields of Greenville NC.
