Obituary
Monroe Johnson, 81, of Morehead City, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Beaufort at his sister’s home.
Monroe was a member of Glad Tidings Church of Morehead City. He also was the owner and operator of Monroe Johnson Construction.
A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Glad Tidings Church in Morehead City, burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Sunday at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Valeria Johnson of Morehead City; son, Zebbie Johnson of Maury, NC; daughter, Adrienne Harris and husband, Marc of Senoia, GA; daughter, Sharon Caldwell and husband, Kenneth of Patterson, NJ; 11 grandchildren and one great grandson; three brothers, Sylvester Johnson and wife, Brenda of North River; Wardell Johnson and wife, Doris of North River; Willie Ray Johnson and wife, Vivian of North River; Cornell Johnson of North River; two sisters, Katie Johnson and husband, Gus of North River; Rena Reed of North River.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mary Johnson and son, Vaughan Monroe Johnson.
